John B. Perry, 87, of Fishers, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Fishers. He was born on September 29, 1925 to Harry and Alice (VanTyle) Perry in Bedford, Indiana.
John proudly served his country as a Marine during WWII, enlisting when he was just 16 years old.
He was a 1951 graduate of Indiana State University; and then went on to obtain his Master's degree in Counseling and School Administration. He taught Industrial Arts at Broad Ripple High School and served as Dean of Boys at Broad Ripple High School from 1962-1970, and coached golf there from 1954-1970. He then served as Dean of Boys & Girls at George Washington High School from 1971-1973, retiring in 1973.
He worked in real estate from 1973-1981. In 1982 he became the owner and operator of Keystone Golf, and retired again in 2000. John enjoyed playing golf and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Perry whom he married in 1972; son, David Perry; daughter, Julie (David) Delaney; son, Brian (Sherri) Perry; sister, Jerry Ann Perry Logsdon; brother, Jackie Lee Perry; grandchildren, Scott Perry, Sam (Abby) Perry, Dan Phegley, Mitch Phegley, Hannah Perry & Claire Perry; and great-grandchildren triplets, Alexander Perry, Brandon Perry & Lila Joy Perry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Norma J. Mitchell Perry; son, Mark Perry; and sister, Jean Clements.
Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am immediately prior to the service. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
