John Timothy âTim' Russell, 68, of Noblesville decided to fly home Monday, October 31, 2016, following the return from a wonderful trip to the East Coast with his high school sweetheart and beautiful wife of 42 years, Diana (Beason)-his best friend for 50 years. Tim was born June 3, 1948, to Luther and Arlene (McQueary) Russell in Liberty, Kentucky. Following Noblesville High School and Ball State University he worked for himself as an electrician and enjoyed his lifelong dream of being a private pilot, flying his own plane.
Tim was an incredible and dedicated father to his two children, John Zachary Russell and Abigail (Paul) Moore. His pride reached new heights with his promotion to "Papa" as he was over the moon for his two grandchildren, Arlie Mable Moore and Hunter Westerfield Moore.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Tim is survived by three siblings-Paul Russell of Diamondhead, Mississippi; Judy Smith of Plymouth; and Connie Snethen of Sheridan-and a tried and true list of wonderful and eternal friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved and sorely missed older brother, Ron Russell.
Tim was known for his friendly ability to strike up a conversation with most anyone and would never hesitate to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor.
A celebration service will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, November 7, 2016, at his home at 607 Sly Run Overlook in Noblesville. Visitors are invited to gather to pay their respects to the family from 3:00 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, his family has requested contributions be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
