John "Jack" H. Snyder, Jr., 81, of Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 with his beloved family by his side. He was born on April 26, 1943 to John H., Sr. and Mildred Jeanette (Dailey) Snyder in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jack was a 1961 graduate of Westfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, serving in Germany for 3 years during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Jack was a retiree of 34 years from the Ford Motor Company on English Avenue. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Carmel. Jack was inducted into the Forest of Friendship in Atchison, Kansas in 2003. He loved flying and was a pilot for many years, owning his own plane, and was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society and Indiana Wing Civil Air Patrol. Jack was an avid reader, history buff, and enjoyed watching westerns.
The Snyder Family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans ALS Clinic, Luminary Hospice, and Clover Health Care services for their loving care.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cynthia Kay Snyder; daughter, Kim (Marc) Carey; grandchildren, Michael, Jon, and Palmer Jack; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John H. Snyder, III; brother, Gene Snyder; and many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road in Carmel, with Rev. Brian Doerr officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, following the service.
