Joseph Junker, 78, of Carmel, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. He was born on May 25, 1946 to Dale and Virginia (Nollette) Junker in Alexandria, Virginia.
Joe graduated from Norfolk High School, Norfolk, NE in 1964 and attended South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. He was employed by Behlen Manufacturing, Columbus, NE for 12 years before joining his father and brother in the construction business. He was Vice President of Mid-States Erectors for 34 years in steel construction.
Joe was the past president of Junior Chamber of Commerce in Columbus, NE and was a first class Boy Scout. He enjoyed playing cards, poker, bingo, gardening, cooking, and building things. Joe loved fishing and ran bass fishing tournaments any chance that he could.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessa (John) Wyatt; son, Jeff (Chrissy) Junker; sisters, Connie Onken, Anne (Dennis) Hall, and Mary (Jerry) Nichols; brother, James (Susan) Junker; and his 3 grandchildren, Declan Wyatt, Hannah Junker, and Jack Junker.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Christinia K. Junker.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for close family and friends.
