Joseph 'Joe' A. Scott

Joseph 'Joe' A. Scott, 92, of Noblesville, passed away on the morning of Monday, December 26, 2016 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on October 5, 1924 to Glen E. and Beatrice (Shafer) Scott in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joe retired in 1986 from the IN State Highway Dept where he had been a draftsman for 30 years. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army; was a WWII and Korean War veteran; and was awarded a Victory Medal. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Noblesville Troop #101, Pack #121; a member of the Scottish Rite and the American Indian Hobbiest Group of the Tecumseh Lodge and Kunieh Society. He enjoyed model trains and hot air balloons; and was involved with the Society of Young Magicians and the Society of American Magicians.
He is survived by his son, Larry (Audrey) Scott; five daughters, Carolyn (Carl) Baumann, Margaret Scott, Martha (John) King, Susan (Marion Haakanson) Scott and Melissa Higgins; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara P. Scott who passed away in 2009; a sister, Cordelia Scott in 2011; and son-in-law, Jeff Higgins in 2003.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America Troop #101, c/o Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, Noblesville, IN 46060.
