Joseph Homer Stephens, 79, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. He was born on October 3, 1939 to Otha and Dorothy Stephens in Noblesville, Indiana.
Homer attended Noblesville High School. He worked at Chrysler in Indianapolis for 18 years and also finished drywall during this time. After Chrysler closed down, he started his own drywall business, Stephens Drywall, in Noblesville until his retirement in 2012. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Bass Pro fisherman for 50 years. The highlight of his fishing career was winning the championship in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2001
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Molé-Peddicord; son, Scott (Kim) Stephens; grandchildren, Craig Stephens (Megan), Douglas Stephens, Jessica Molé, Amber (James) Burdine; great-grandchildren, Noah, Maria, and Jaxson; brother, James (Kathy) Stephens; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, Charles, Donald, David, Ernest, Doris, Bonnie, Martha, Johnny, and Mary Carolyn; and son-in-law, Larry Peddicord.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
