Joseph E. Wainscott Sr., 78, Lebanon, Ohio (formerly of Noblesville), passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, in Fairfield, Ohio. He was born, November 28, 1930 in Noblesville to Everett and Elizabeth (Schutts) Wainscott.
Joe was a self-employed horse trainer and driver with the Lebanon Raceway. He was a 1948 graduate of Noblesville High School and a proud U.S. Navy Submarine veteran of the Korean Conflict. Joe was a member of the Noblesville American Legion; and a former member of the U.S. Trotting Association, and Ohio Standard Bred Association.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rosemary (Whisler) Wainscott of Lebanon, OH; sons, Joseph E. (& Cheryl) Wainscott Jr. of Indianapolis, Michael James (& Jean) Hilton of Arcadia, Steven (& Leesa) Hilton of Wilkenson, IN, and Charles D. (& Kathy) Wainscott of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Russell, George, & Elic Wainscott; and sister, Joann Wainscott.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 1:00PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00AM, prior to the service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
