Joy Wamsley, 88, of Cicero was born April 1926, in Tell City, Indiana and passed away on December 6, 2014, at Wellbrooke Nursing Home in Westfield.
Joy was a prior member of Epworth Church, attended Shortridge High School, and graduated from Butler University where she was the president of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Joy was employed at Eli Lilly for 21 years. After retiring, she volunteered at St. Vincent and Riverview Hospitals. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, and her beloved dogs.
Joy is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, David; sister, Elizabeth Palmer; one nephew; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Alma Wichser; and sister, Jean Janson.
A celebration of life is planned this spring.
