Joyce Ann (Rouch) Fields Brenner, 78, Carmel, passed away August 20, 2010, at St. Vincent's Hospice Center, after an 18-month battle with bladder cancer. Through it all, she never complained, and kept a positive attitude and her sense of humor. She was born November 29, 1931 in Columbia City, Indiana to the late Mildred (Jackson) Rouch Green and Lee Rouch. Her husband, Fred Brenner, her step-parents, Hamilton and Arloene Green, and her daughter, Debra Flick, precede her in death.
Joyce attended Ligonier High School and Indiana University. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was Miss Ligonier in 1949. She was active in the American Cancer Society; was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Carmel; and was a Volunteer at St. Vincent's Hospital in Carmel. Retiring in 1995, her work career included the Semler Insurance Agency, the Colonial National Life Insurance and the Marion County Extension.
She is survived by her sons, Doug (Julie) Fields and Dan Fields; son-in-law, Ron Flick; daughter, Pam Prickett; step-children, David (Cathy) Brenner; Cathy (Kenny) Vought; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy (Phil) Glassley, Bonnie Grossman (Ken Burger) and Pat (Dudley) Slaten; and long time friend, sorority sister and college roommate, Barbara Medlicott; along with a host of family, friends and neighbors who loved her and supported her throughout her life.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 4PM to 8PM at Randall and Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN. A church service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, at 10:30AM at St. Mark's Methodist Church, 4780 East 126th Street, Carmel.
