Judith Lynn Clifton, 65, of Carmel, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Clarian North Medical Center in Carmel with her loving family at her side. She was a non-smoker who courageously fought lung cancer for 5 and a half years with great determination and strength.
She was born while her father was away fighting for our freedom on February 23, 1945 to Lyle and LaVera (Harrison) Harshbarger in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She married Wendell Clifton on August 3, 1963 at Jefferson Chapel Methodist Church in rural Columbia City. They lived in Columbia City for a short time before moving to Fort Wayne. In 1972 they moved to Carmel, Indiana.
Her most important role and reason for surviving three previous bouts with breast cancer and fighting lung cancer, was to be a mother for her children and an Ama to her grandchildren. She was very passionate about her family and loved her friends very much.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Wendell; son, Jeff Clifton of Westfield, IN; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Yahne of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Tyler, Kayleigh & Cameron Yahne; two nieces, Christy Rundle & Lee Anne Koeneman; and her Uncle & Aunt, William & Betty Harrison; and several cousins. Her love has blessed them all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Dennis.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Clarian North Hospital for the care and attention that they gave to Judie and her family during her final days. The family is especially thankful for the compassion and support of Dr. Nasser Hanna and Debb Estes, RN, with the IU Simon Cancer Center, the past five years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with Rev. Brooks Barrick officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Noblesville.
