Judy Diamond, loving wife and mother and a wonderful friend to so very many, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family. She was 55. Judy had survived ovarian cancer for just over two years.
Born Judy Rae Smith on February 23, 1954, in Effingham, IL, she was married to Ronald L. Diamond for 23 years and has a daughter Erin who is a freshman at Indiana University. She is survived by her parents, husband and daughter.
Judy graduated from Illinois State University in 1976, with a degree in home economics and joined the Illinois Extension Service after graduation, serving Lawrence County Illinois as the Extension Home Economist for 10 years. She held numerous positions over the years since then, making wonderful life-long friends along the way. Her last position was Stock Broker for Charles Schwab & Company.
She volunteered her time for various organizations and causes, but most of all Judy loved to be with family and friends and especially enjoyed catching up on what was going on in their lives, happenings in the neighborhood, her community and around the world. She was a great conversationalist and made everyone feel so comfortable to be with her, even in her last days.
