Judy Ransford, 78, of Fishers, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on January 15, 1938 to Gerald Clyde and Robertine 'Bobby' (Yung) McGhee in Sullivan County, Indiana.
Judy was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She attended Union High School in Dugger, IN and was a member of Fishers United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the hand bell choir, and took part in several mission trips. She retired in 2010 from Oscar Incorporated where she had worked for over 30 years; and was a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority and Do-Si-Squares Club. Besides square dancing, she enjoyed crafts, scrap booking, reading, camping with her husband, and traveling (especially cruises).
She is survived by her four sons, James (Cynthia) Ransford, Norm (Libby) Ransford, Mark (Mary Ann) Ransford and Brett (Kathy) Ransford; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Jonathan McGhee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James H. Ransford who passed away in 1999; and a brother, Stephen McGhee.
Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm. Pastor Kevin McKinney will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
