Julia Fern Moore, 81, of Indianapolis and formerly of Utica, OH and Louisa, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at home. She was born on March 5, 1935 to Cletus and Marguerite (Londot) Smith in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Julia had been a school bus driver for the Newark City Schools in Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with people, especially her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Yvonne 'Vonnie' (Craig) Lute of Indianapolis; son, Mark (Julie Walker) Moore of Utica, OH; step-son, Robert (Jenny) Moore of Flatwoods, KY; brother, Robert (Mary) Smith of Heath, OH; two sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Yough of Mt. Liberty, OH and Tess (Jerry) Zambon of Newark, OH; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Moore.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Northside Church of Christ, 4427 Marion Rd NE, Newark, OH 43055.
Julia always said she wanted flowers while she was living, not once she was gone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Julia, to Guardian Angel Hospice, 513 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, Indiana 46902; or, American Cancer Society, 5635 W 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
