Karen Sue (Bell) VanBenthuysen, 58, of Fishers, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on April 19, 1955 to Robert and Martha (Heffernan) Bell in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Karen worked for D.H.U.D. for seven years, and also for several different mortgage lenders throughout the years, and was a member of Horizon Christian Fellowship.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence VanBenthuysen; son, Jacob R Canada; step-daughters, Melissa Landwerlen, Christy Slabach, and Heather Jessee; brothers, James Bell, and Michael Bell; sisters, Barbara Bell, Martha Jean Bell-Young, Ann Bell, Kathleen Bell-Crabill, and Maureen Bell; and twelve grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John R. Canada; brothers, Stephen Bell and Robert Bell; and sister, Janet Bell-Brownlee.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Horizon Christian Fellowship, 7702 Indian Lake Road, in Indianapolis, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until the time of service. Bill Goodrich will officiate.
