Katelyn L. Carter, 31, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was born on February 11, 1982 to Wayne and Judy (Kanitz) Steffen in Indianapolis, IN.
Katelyn was a 2000 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School. She attended Sullivan University in Louisville for one year and was a graduate of Professional Careers Institute. She had worked for several years for JWM Neurology, and most recently had been employed at Knott's Optometry. Katelyn had the kindest and most compassionate heart, and all who knew her will forever miss her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by husband, Jim Carter whom she affectionately referred to as 'Slim'; sisters, Elizabeth (Vivek) D'lima and Ashley (William) Smith; sisters-in-law, Bobbi (Mike) Griffin and Deb Wolfe; four nieces, Maya, Ella & Ava D'lima, and Michaela Smith; grandmother, Lucille Steffen; several aunts & uncles; and many cousins.
Katelyn is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillian Kanitz who passed away earlier this year.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am immediately prior to the service. Pastor Mark Wright will officiate.
