Rev. Ken R. File, 81, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 26, 1942 to Kenneth and Fredia (Bauer) File in Alton, Illinois.
Ken was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School and studied at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO in preparation for the ministry. He completed his educational studies at Southern Illinois University and was ordained with the Assemblies of God. Ken was a pastor for over 55 years. He served churches in Illinois and Oklahoma. Upon retirement from full time ministry, Ken served as the Seniors Pastor at Life Church in Fishers, IN where he thoroughly enjoyed being a Bible Study teacher and conducting services for the Seniors. He was a very selfless person and a very patient and loving man, always giving of himself. Ken had a passion for sharing God's Word and helping others come to know Jesus Christ. He was very handy and loved to fix numerous things, and enjoyed plants and gardening. He became famous for his booming voice. Most of all, Ken loved spending time with his family, traveling abroad and domestically. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathi File; son, David (Lyn) File; daughter, Deb (Chip) Burdick; sister, Sue (Wes) Campbell; grandchildren, Baylee (Ben) Wunder, Alexa (Josh) Proctor, Aspen File, and Avery File; great-grandson, Charlie Wunder; several nieces & nephews and cousins; and his special cousin, Beth Scroggins.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Heyen.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 pm, on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Rev. Paul Lavino and Rev. Laury Hunter will officiate.
