Kenneth Haines

Kenneth D. Haines, 80, of Westfield, Indiana went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 14th, 2013 after a heroic battle with cancer over these last several months. Ken was blessed with a wonderful life, that his family and his friends give thanks to God for!
Ken was born on April 30th, 1933 to Claude and Flora (Shafer) Haines in Denver, Indiana.
On October 26th, 1957, Ken married the love of his life, Rosann Pasquale Haines, who preceded him in death in 2010. Ken counted nearly 53 years of marriage to Rosann as the greatest blessing of his life.
Ken grew up in Denver, Indiana and went to school in Mexico, Indiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army. After living for a few years shortly after he was married in Peru, Indiana, Ken and Rosann moved to Logansport, Indiana. Ken was the owner and general manager of Ken Haines & Sons Pools in Logansport. He built some of the most beautiful and long-lasting swimming pools in the area. There were very few things that Ken couldn't fix or repair. And he loved helping others out when they needed things fixed. In 2007, Ken and Rosann moved to Westfield, Indiana. For the past several years, Ken has enjoyed volunteering at St. Augustine's Home in Indianapolis. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling with family and friends, and collecting coins. Ken was a great gift to his family and his friends and will be greatly missed!
Ken was always very active in his Faith and his Church, first at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Logansport, Indiana, and later All Saints Catholic Church, in Logansport, even before becoming Catholic. After moving to Westfield he joined and became involved in St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
Ken is survived by three sons: Fr. Kevin Haines, a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana and the Pastor of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Westfield, Indiana; John Haines (Jennifer) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and Greg Haines (Emma) also of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. A fourth son, David, preceded him in death in 1990. Ken has five grandchildren whom he loved very much and was extremely proud of: Ryan Haines, Haley Haines, Jack Haines, Jim Haines, and Joe Haines. Ken was also preceded in death by one brother, Garth Haines, and three sisters, Eileen Allman, Thais Rairigh, and Margorie Cain.
Ken's life will be celebrated and remembered with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield, Indiana. Friends, family, and loved ones may call at a special visitation, the night before, on Monday evening, November 18th from 4 to 8 PM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville. Burial will take place Tuesday afternoon at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN, with the Rite of Committal taking place in the cemetery's chapel at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the St. Maria Goretti Adoration Chapel/ Bell Tower fund or the Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Augustine's Home.
