Kenny VanDeventer, 78, of Noblesville, and formerly of Westphalia, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sunrise on Old Meridian in Carmel with his family at his side. It has been a long, hard journey for him but, at last, he has found peace. He was born on October 1, 1937 in Bloomfield, the third son of Wayne and Fern (Helms) VanDeventer.
Ken retired in 1991 after 33 years with the Westinghouse/ABB Corp. in Bloomington.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol (Due) VanDeventer; daughters, Jami Gray of Westfield and Vicki Randall of Carmel; three grandsons, Dylan Randall, Carson Gray, and Brandon Gray; granddaughter, Annabelle Walters; and brothers, Leon & Ray of Bloomfield, and Lonnie of Marion.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey VanDeventer.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, 13135 N. Salem, Westphalia, IN, with Pastor Bryan Taylor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Assoc. Inc., 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047; or your local Alzheimer's Association.
