Larry Thompson

Larry Myers Thompson, 69, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at home. He was born on September 2, 1942 to Myers and Nina (Maners) Thompson in Bloomfield, Indiana. Larry fought a courageous battle with terminal brain cancer, and now is in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Larry worked 40 years as a concrete finisher for Big Three Concrete Co., retiring in 1997; and had most recently worked at Harbour Trees Golf Club in Noblesville. He was a member of Noblesville Baptist Church, and a veteran of the National Guard, serving in the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1969.
He loved his family with all his heart. He was a wonderful Dad and Grandpa. Everyone who met him became a real friend. Larry loved to travel with his wife, Carolyn, and usually a grandchild or two. They were always together and went everywhere together.
Larry supported the St. Joseph's Lakota Children's Indian School. He was also a proud American, and loved his country. He loved his church and church family as well. Although he is away from us now, his legacy will live on.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Absher Thompson, who he married in 1967; daughters, Shelly Guzman & Kristy (Matt) Green; son, Darren (Abby McCoy) Thompson; daughter, Janet (Tim) Crowe; 11 grandchildren: Joshua Guzman, Nichole Guzman, Jessica Guzman, Jordan Guzman, Matthew Guzman, Christopher Green, Nicholas Green, Logan Green, Ashley Green, Heather Crowe, and Travis Crowe; God-daughter, Jenna Durbin; and brother, Robert (Kathe) Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Thompson.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Noblesville Baptist Church, 1338 E. Pleasant Street, with Pastor Seth Leeman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
