Lee R. Nylander, 76, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Wellbrooke of Carmel. He was born on June 26, 1940 to Stanley O. and Pat (Tostesen) Nylander in Elmwood Park, Illinois.
Lee was retired from Broutman & Associates in Chicago, where he had been a vice president for 19 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and his PhD from Loyola University in Chicago. He was a past-president of the Society of Plastic Engineers; a member of the Blatchley Nature Club in Noblesville; and a member of Noblesville Baptist Church. He raised prized orchids and was a past-president of the Illinois Orchid Society.
He is survived by his wife, Belva G. Nylander; children, Kimberely (Lou) Nylander Herrera and Neil E. (Aliya) Nylander; step-children, Lisa (Kurt) Herron, Richard (Kathy) Gigante, Andrew (Shannon) Gigante and Lauren (Matt) Wilkens; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Noblesville Baptist Church, 1338 E Pleasant Street in Noblesville, with Pastor Seth Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
