Lelah Belle Gamron

Lelah Belle Gamron, 101, of Noblesville, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 18, 2016 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. She was born on July 19, 1914 to W.G. and Carrie (Sparrow) Newby in Sheridan, Indiana.
Lelah graduated from Sheridan High School in 1932, which was the first graduating class of that particular building, now Adams Elementary School. For many years, she worked as Head Cashier at Standard Grocery in Noblesville. Lelah was a 60+ year member of First Christian Church in Noblesville, a charter member of Senior Citizens Organization of Noblesville, and a member of over 75 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, having also served as Worthy Matron. Lelah loved travelling, reading, and crocheting, and was a fan of the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and IU Basketball. She and her husband, Bill, enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Lelah is survived by her daughter, Patricia Swinford; three grandchildren, Mike (Dawn) Swinford, Cindy (Bob) Rowland, and Michelle Swinford; two great-grandchildren, Patrick (Molli) Swinford and Laurissa Swinford; and two great-great-grandchildren, Joani Swinford and Wyatt Swinford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Emerson Moore and William Gamron; daughter, Sue Moore; two sisters, Lillian & Fairy; one brother, Bill Newby; one grandson, Matthew Swinford; and two granddaughters, Crystal & Christine Swinford.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with visitation from 11:00 am to the time of service. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
