Lenice Irene Russ

Lenice Irene (Willis) Russ, age 100, a long-time Noblesville resident, passed away April 19, 2017. The daughter of the late Floyd Willis and Emma (Quilan) Willis, she was born near Iron City, Tennessee on December 4, 1916.
She married Waylon Russ on December 18, 1931. They were married 60 years until his death in 1992.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Betty Russ, Marian Brown; her son, Thomas Russ; and several sisters and brothers.
Lenice is survived by 7 of her children: Bonnie Gist, Mary Elizabeth Lantzer (Lee), Lillian Abbott, Vivian Anderson, Joanna Bowling (Charlie), Dennis Russ (Freda) and Barbara Raymond (Steve); daughter-in-law, Minnie Russ; and son-in-law, Forrest Brown. She is also survived by her brother, T.A. Willis.
She had 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 52 great-great-grandchildren.
Lenice was a homemaker and worked at Riverview Hospital in the housekeeping department. She loved flowers, gardening and was an excellent seamstress creating many beautiful quilts that will cement her legacy.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with visitation from 9:00 am to the time of service. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
