Leslie Rush Heavin, 66, of Noblesville, passed away on November 8 at St. Vincent's Hospice after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. She was born on October 7, 1944 to Steve and Wanda May Rush in Bloomington, IN.
Leslie was an independent business owner. She established Haven Promotional Marketing several years ago and was a member of BAGI, the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.
Leslie was an avid dancer and a member of Brickyard Boogie Dancers as well as Indy Dancers. Her partners were always charmed with her smile and skill on the dance floor. The only thing in life that Leslie enjoyed more than dancing was traveling to warm climates. Cancun and Florida were two of her favorite destinations.
Her leadership and commitment to the community was apparent through her tireless efforts on behalf of several local charities. She was an active volunteer in various fundraising activities supporting St. Mary's Child Center. She was also a "Godparent" of the agency. Leslie also volunteered for the Little Sisters of the Poor golf outing for many years.
She is survived by her mother, Wanda Rush, of Bloomington and two daughters, Stephanie (Gene) Sherman of Houston, Texas, and Rhonda Lentz of Bloomington. Other survivors are six grandchildren, Justin Sherman and Devin Sherman of Houston, Danielle Lorche of Houston, Travis Matlock and Christine Matlock of Bloomington, and Phillip Lentz of Bloomington. She also has three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Steve Rush.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Child Center or the Little Sisters of the Poor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 12 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers, IN, followed by a lunch provided by the church. Visitation will be Thursday, November 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 12010 Allisonville Rd., Fishers, IN. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, IN at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
