Lincoln "Jim" Slagle

Lincoln "Jim" Slagle, 82, of Fishers, IN passed away peacefully on November 13, 2010 at Community Hospital North, from complications of Leukemia. Lincoln was born July 16, 1928 in Slickford, KY to CM and Ollie Slagle. He was one of 9 children.
He served his country honorably as a corporal in the US. Army in the Korean War 1951-1953. He retired from Chrysler after 36 years of service and worked part time as a groundskeeper for Mr. Flesh of Carmel. Lincoln was an avid gardener and race fan. He enjoyed working on small household projects, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons, Rick (Kim) of Fishers, Randy (Melissa) of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Coby and Marisa Slagle of Fishers; one step grandson, Trey Hinds of Bloomington; four brothers, Jason, Fletcher, Warren and Hershel Slagle all of Monticello KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Lincoln was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jean (Guffey) Slagle; a sister Dica Mae McGlocklin of Campbellsville KY; brothers, Caleb Slagle of New Castle, Lee Slagle (Jim's Twin) of Monticello, KY, Raleigh Slagle; and his parents CM and Ollie Slagle also of Monticello KY.
Friends may call 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Randall and Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Funeral services will be held in the mortuary on Friday at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Mike Reed officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer society.
