Dr. Linda L. Kristo, June 26, 1936 to June 21, 2012.
Dr. Kristo was born in East Detroit, MI. Dr. Kristo received the following degrees: B.S. Michigan State, M.A. University of Michigan, and PHD from University of Toledo.
Dr. Kristo traveled extensively throughout the United States with her husband, George Kristo, while he was employed as a vice president with the Blue Cross organization. The couple settled in Noblesville, IN in 1990 where Dr. Kristo opened her private psychology practice seeing over 3600 patients in her career.
The IRS considered her book "What You Should Know About Individual Retirement Accounts" the premier reference book on the subject. She was asked to testify before congress on changes in the IRA law and interviewed by the Today Show host Hugh Downs regarding her book. She also authored several other magazine and newspaper articles related to human nature and psychology.
Before embarking on her educational and professional career, Dr. Kristo had worked as a barmaid, secretary, accounting clerk at Wayne State University, the Detroit Free Press, school teacher, and librarian.
A leader in "going green," Dr. Kristo and her husband had gone sixteen (16) years without the use of an automobile resulting in their story being published in their local Sunday supplement magazine.
For nearly 20 years, she assisted her husband by acting as hostess for the Drug Free New Year's Eve Party, Summer Family Fun Day, and many other events sponsored by the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and other Drugs. Her specialty food was her homemade brownies; enjoyed by all.
Dr. Kristo's personal philosophy was "to leave the place better than you had found it."
In addition to her husband, George Kristo, Linda is survived by niece, Diane Kish; and three nephews, John and Christopher Unthank, and David Dalton.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, in Noblesville, with Father Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery.
