Linda Ann Powell, 74, of Arcadia, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at her home. She was born on December 31, 1938 to Leonard and Ella (Rushton) Stokes in Noblesville, Indiana. Her parents precede her in death.
Linda was a 1957 graduate of Jackson Central high school and was a homemaker. She loved crafts, sports, and being outdoors. She was an avid antique collector and would be seen at auctions every weekend. Even though she didn't have children of her own, she was a room mother for years at her nieces and nephews schools. Linda was a girl scout leader for many years. She was an expert seamstress and had a booth at the Atlanta Earth Festival for several years. People would come from everywhere to get one of her custom made jackets. She was on a bowling league for years. She was a competitive golfer and watched it on television every chance she had. Linda loved to play Bingo, Scrabble and Yahtzee. She, with Joe traveled all over the country to motorcycle races. She loved fast cars and they had quite the car collection over the years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Joe Powell; brothers, Creston Stokes, Steve Stokes, and Bill Stokes; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero.
