Louis George Firsich

Louis George Firsich died on Sunday, March 1st at home. He was 75 years old. Son of Cornelius Stanley Firsich and Mary (Grassman) Firsich. Brother to Janet Koehl O'Brien (deceased), Olivia McMahon (Larry), and Robert Firsich (Diana). Husband of Louise Elias Firsich of Buffalo, NY. Father of Michael Louis Firsich, Karen Ruggles (Bryan), and Laura Arnett (Andy). Grandfather of 9.
Louis (or "Louie" as he is lovingly known and remembered by his friends and family) was born on September 30, 1939, in Batesville, Indiana. He grew up in Batesville, graduating from Batesville High School where he played golf and football. Louie met his wife, Louise, while attending Marian University in Indianapolis. He graduated with an accounting degree and was captain of the golf team. Louis and Louise married on Saturday, September 29, 1962, at St Andrews Catholic Church in Buffalo, NY.
Louie served in the Army Reserves and had a successful accounting career with two local businesses before opening The Cigar Box in Indianapolis with his long-time friend, co-worker and business partner, Bill Daley. As local entrepreneurs, Louie and Bill grew the business significantly over a period of 18 years.
Louie was active in the Catholic Church, beginning as an altar boy at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville. He and Louise have been active members of Holy Spirit, St. Lawrence, and St. Louis De Montfort. Louie enjoyed being around friends and family most, helping others, playing golf, cards, and following the Colts and IU basketball. He is loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana, on Thursday, March 5th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Louis De Montfort, 11441 Hague Road, Fishers, Indiana, on Friday, March 6th beginning with visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial services will immediately follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. All are welcome.
