Luann Snyder

Luann Snyder passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at home after a courageous 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 65.  Luann is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, Steve; daughter, Nicole and husband Michael Carnahan; and son-in-law, Tom Ott.  "G", as she was so affectionately known, was a loving grandmother to grandson, Aaron Carnahan; and granddaughters, Katherine and Lauren Ott. She is also survived by a sister- and brother-in-law, Judy & Mike Rutter; as well as special nieces, nephews, cousins, and uncles.  Luann will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, "G", sister, aunt and friend who liked nothing more than spending time with her family, being with her friends and helping others.
Luann was preceded in death by her daughter, Megan S. Ott; her parents, Ira & Margaret Ellis; her brother, Alexander Ellis; and her father- and mother-in-law, Roy & Romaine Snyder.
Luann was born on September 5, 1952 in Mercer, Pennsylvania. She was a past Grand Worth Advisor for the International Order of the Rainbow Girls for the state of Pennsylvania, and a life-long member of Mercer Chapter 86 of the Pennsylvania Order of the Eastern Star. Luann was a graduate of Robert Morris University, where she met her husband Steve, who she married on August 25, 1973.  She retired in 2001 from GTE. Luann was a founding member of the board of directors of the Megan S. Ott Foundation. She attended Bethel Lutheran Church.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 7, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 20650 Cumberland Road in Noblesville, with Pastor Doug Gast and Pastor Al Schoonover officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Megan S. Ott Foundation, PO Box 1372, Noblesville, IN 46061, which provides critical assistance to breast cancer patients.  It was founded by Luann's daughter, Megan, and her husband Tom, in March 2010, one month before Megan's death from breast cancer at the age of 34.
