M. Evan Kellum, 87, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 9th, 2015. He was born to the late Thomas and Georgia Kellum in Shirley, Indiana.
He graduated from Cadiz High School in 1945 and Purdue University in 1948. Evan moved to Noblesville in 1958 to open and manage a Farm Bureau Insurance office. Mr. Kellum was with Farm Bureau for 35 years, and served in management and sales both in Hamilton & Marion counties. He greatly enjoyed his clients and friends.
He was a member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church, John Purdue Club, Indiana State Seniors Golf Association, Noblesville Elks Lodge, and Senior Citizens Organization of Noblesville through the years. A sports enthusiast, Evan rooted for all Indiana teams, with Purdue remaining his favorite. He enjoyed golf & bowling, and a good bridge or gin game also gave him great pleasure.
Evan's love for his family, their interests, and shared joys will always be remembered. He is survived by his daughters, Beth Kellum, Fishers, and Lisa Kellum, Chicago; and nephew, Tom Kellum, Indianapolis.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Joan Kellum; sister, E. Jane Kellum; and brother, Milton T. Kellum.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2015, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. A service will be held Saturday, June 27 at 1:00pm at Noblesville First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, Noblesville, with visitation from Noon to the time of service. Pastor Dick Judson will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.
