Mabel F. McGee, 90, of Noblesville, Indiana, died Monday, March 3, 2014, after an extended illness at Riverview Hospital.
She was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, June 10, 1923, to Willie and Viola Markus. Mabel was married to William E. McGee, Waynesboro, Tennessee, on December 17, 1949, who is also deceased.
Mabel is survived by two children, Jim W. McGee (Pendleton, Indiana) and Pamela J. McGee (Noblesville, Indiana). Deceased children include three boys: James Danny McGee, Timmy Neal McGee, and Edgar McGee. She is survived by grandchildren: Ryan McGee, Fishers, In; Kelley (McGee) Mitchell, Noblesville, In; Leslie (McGee) Thurman, Pendleton, In; Courtney McGee, Pendleton, In; Becky (McGee) Cook, Lawrenceburg, Tn; and Angie McGee, Washington. She also has two deceased grandchildren, Joann GcGee and Marie McGee. She was blessed with nine great grandchildren and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ, Noblesville, IN. Besides cooking, baking, and canning garden items, she loved to be outdoors on her porch. Most importantly she loved her family, which she felt was her life's calling.
Mabel's siblings are Mary Andrews, Neva Coker, Willie Markus Jr., James Markus, Kathy Barton, and Cleveland Markus. Her parents Willie and Viola Markus, Iva Neal Markus, and one brother, Edward Markus, are deceased.
Viewing will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, and the funeral celebration will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery, in Noblesville. Funeral arrangements will be officiated by Trevor A. Thurman, Mitchell Haynes, and Jim W. McGee.
