Marca E. "Elaine" Stern, age 86, of Noblesville, IN passed away on Tuesday February 25, 2025 at Copper Trace Care Center Westfield, IN, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Elaine was born on July 16, 1938 in Noblesville, and was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County, attending Elementary School in Noblesville, Jr. and 3 years of High School at Jackson Central High School and was a 1956 Graduate of Noblesville High School.
Elaine farmed with her husband, Morris "Moose" Stern, in Wayne Township in Hamilton County. Elaine worked off the farm as an Indiana Bell-Telephone switchboard operator, worked later many years at Noblesville High School kitchen and cafeteria as well as a Hallway Monitor during lunch period.
Elaine was devoted deeply to her family, husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Refuge Christian Church where she greatly enjoyed being a door greeter on Sunday mornings. Elaine never met an unwelcome stranger, always kind and caring.
Elaine enjoyed camping and camping club with her husband "Moose" and their travels, group breakfast and senior night dinners. She also enjoyed a good movie day with her sister, Arlene. She enjoyed time outside working in the flower beds or yard work.
Elaine married Morris "Moose" Stern in 1957, and they had 3 children: Leanna VanVoorst (Bob), Amy Stern-Domek (Tom), William "Bill" Stern (Sandy). She is also survived by grandchildren, Diane Olson (Todd), Sean Cody (Megan), Kelsey VanVoorst (Kevin), Robert Dunkerly, Ross Dunkerly, Reed Dunkerly, and Connor Stumm (Hallie); great grandchildren, Lacey Olson, Camry Olson, Owen Cody and Calvin Cody; as well as many nieces and nephews who adored Aunt Elaine and time spent on the farm.
She is preceded in death by Parents, Richard and Lorraine (Breese) Daubenspeck of Noblesville; Husband, Morris "Moose" Stern of Noblesville; and Brother, Philip "Van" Daubenspeck of Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with Funeral Services at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the funeral home. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Elaine will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
