Margaret Gertrude Farnam

Margaret Gertrude Farnam, 91, of Fishers, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on July 6, 1923 to William and Laverne (Gresham) Mason in Bay Springs, Mississippi.
Margaret worked in data processing for National Linen. She married John K. Farnam on November 2, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia. Margaret loved her dog, Greta, and was known for her love of gardening and plants. She helped care for the plants at The Hearth, and was implemental in bringing a green house to Bartholomew County Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. Margaret managed the green house for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Carl) Zapfe; son, Tom (Judy) Farnam; grandchildren, Shelley (Tom) Chance, Tim (Jessica) Wilkinson and Ethan Farnam; and three great-grandchildren, Sean, Dylan and Grant.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John K. Farnam; daughter, Nancy Wilkinson; and brothers, William Mason and Thomas Mason.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at The Hearth at Windermere.
