Marian A. Hart, 74, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Carmel, Indiana. Born February 24, 1938 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she will be missed by her husband, Peter Joseph Hart; her two sons, Peter John Hart and Michael Philip Hart; her daughter, Mary Hart White; her son-in-law, Kale A. White; her two grandsons, Brandon J. White and Dawson P. White; her sister-in-law, Elsie Ahlquist Stimple; and all of her extended family and circle of friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary R. Ahlquist; her father, Oscar V. Ahlquist; and her brother, Philip J. Ahlquist.
Marian was a wonderful, conscientious, and giving woman with an infectious smile who was truly admired by everyone fortunate enough to know her. After receiving her B.S. degree from Penn State in 1960 and her M.S. degree from Purdue in 1961, Marian touched the lives of countless young people during her 25 year career as an educator in the biological and chemical sciences at the junior high school, high school, and college levels. Marian was also an accomplished musician - a concert pianist in New Castle, Pennsylvania, bassist in the Midland Michigan Symphony Orchestra and organist at St. James Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She loved plants, and derived great joy working in her flower gardens.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 13, 2012 for a Celebration of Her Life at the Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038. Visitation with family begins at 1pm and the service begins at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Gastroenterology Research at the Mayo Clinic.
