Marian M. Ortiz, 93, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at home. She was born on November 21, 1920 to Jose Soloman and Ursuleta Mary (Martinez) Manzanares in Monte Vista, Colorado.
Maria was a long time resident of Noblesville, and has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church since 1960. She loved being a house wife and a mother to her children. She was also a seamstress, and enjoyed riding horses, being outdoors, fishing, and working in her flower gardens.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Louis A. Ortiz; daughters, Shirley (David) Sappenfield, Beverly Head, and Doris (Gary) Shaffer; grandchildren, Christopher (Lori) Head, Ashley (Crystal) Head, Michael (Amber) Kemper, David Sappenfield, Lauren Sappenfield, and Jaret (Amy) Shaffer; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Tony (Bev) Manzanares; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2013, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street, in Noblesville, with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary service beginning at 7:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
