Marie L. McGuire

Marie L. McGuire, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, 9 days before her 100th birthday.  She was born on August 6, 1919 to the late Claude and Louise (Schmidt) Yates in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Marie spent summers at their cottage in Riverwood where she met her future husband, Creston McGuire, and developed a lifelong love of swimming and the water.  For 20 years, Marie worked in the Attendance Office (6 years as Truant Officer) for Noblesville Schools, honored upon her retirement in 1995 as the Grand Marshall of Noblesville's Homecoming Parade.  An avid bridge player, bicyclist, walker, dog lover, and loyal NHS Basketball fan, she also loved the beauty and serenity of hot air ballooning, logging more than 25 flights including one very memorable one in the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta surrounded by 600 other balloons.

Marie is survived by her son, Daniel McGuire (Debbie Crist); grandson, William (Laura) McGuire; great-grandson, Austin McGuire; as well as many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Creston "Mac" McGuire in 2010; and her brother, Robert Yates.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

The family wishes to thank David Dwyer, MD for his many years of excellent and compassionate medical care.  A special thank you is due her neighbors Linda Weil and Mary Lou Martin for their years of friendship and support.
