Marie Sophronia Rust, 93, of Noblesville, formerly of Sparta, Illinois, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Sheridan Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Sheridan, Indiana. Marie was born to Herman L. and Josephine (Craig) Wessendorf, August 3, 1917 in Bremen, Illinois.
She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Westfield, Indiana. She moved from Sparta in 1983 with her husband to live with their son in Noblesville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Willis Rust, October 28, 1996, after 59 years of marriage.
She completed three years of high school in Chester, Illinois and graduated at the Sparta High School in Sparta, Illinois. She entered the work force for a period of time by performing secretarial work for the County Agricultural Advisor in Sparta, Illinois.
Marie graduated Beauty Culture School in East St. Louis, Illinois and received license to practice in the State of Illinois. She met and married J. Willis Rust August 21, 1937, becoming a farm wife and homemaker in rural Sparta. A son, Ryan Willis Rust was born February 24, 1940, and he survives.
She taught Sunday school many years at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta, Illinois. In later years she moved with her husband from the rural farm home they lived for very many years to a new house in Sparta, Illinois. Finally, they moved to live with their son.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, October 4, 2010, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Westfield, Indiana, with Pastor Tim Krupski officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville, Indiana. Burial will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Paradise Cemetery, near Bremen, Illinois.
