Marjorie R. Glacken

Marjorie R. Glacken, 91, of Fishers, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Bridgewater Healthcare Center in Carmel. She was born on August 19, 1933 to Nathaniel and Marguerite (Hines) Schmidt in New York, New York. 

Marjorie was a devoted homemaker who liked to travel and watch her favorite shows on PBS. She enjoyed going shopping for antiques with her husband, decorating for every holiday, reading and entertaining. Marjorie loved being around people, especially being with her family who called her Grammy M. Marjorie was a friend to everyone she met. To her, no one was “too small in status”. She loved “wide” -meaning all kinds of people from all walks of life. Her grandchildren will always remember their late night talks, her generous spirit and that “what happens with Grammy, stays with Grammy”. She was a beloved mother who made clear that she wanted better for her children and supported their efforts all along the way -whether that was education, travel or watching the grandchildren. 

Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Christine Daumeyer and Deborah (Allan) Spatzier; grandchildren, Brandon (Brianne) Christensen, Emmet Kolakowski, George "Jake" (Alicia) Daumeyer, Natalie (Matt) DeMarco, and Paige (Taylor) Gasman; and her great-grandchildren, Jack and Ben Christensen, Maya Daumeyer, Dean DeMarco, and Joe and Gavin Gasman. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Emmett Glacken; and son-in-law, Joe Daumeyer. 

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
