Martin Dean Baird, 59, Fishers, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home in Fishers. He was born December 16, 1950 in Sterling, Colorado to Richard Marcus and Margaret (Laramey) Baird.
Mr. Baird worked in sales management; was previously an Assistant Youth Pastor; an Assistant Minister at the Pentecostal Church in Greeley, Colorado, and a Pastor for three years in the Denver Pentecostal Church.
He was in the process of writing a book of the last surviving marine (Rev. Tidwell) of Guadalcanal. He also had interest in untapped energy, and Geothermal technology; was an avid golfer; enjoyed walking, camping, RVing, and taking cruises. He loved church and had a special love for gospel music, especially the Gaithers.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Adams) Baird; a sister, Barbara (husband, Dave) Cloud, of Monument, Colorado; a brother, Scott (wife, Lori) Baird, of Centennial, Colorado; six nieces and nephews; and two Godchildren, Kelly & Jenny.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Fishers United Methodist Church, 9690 E. 116th Street, Fishers, Indiana, with Pastor Tim Novak officiating. Friends may call Thursday, July 15, 5:30 - 7:30PM at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, also located in Fishers.
