Mary Elizabeth Camp, 95, of Noblesville, Indiana, died on May 6, 2015, in the home of her caretaker Barbara Sexton. She was the wife of former Noblesville Police Chief Raymond Camp who preceded her in death 1986.
Mary Elizabeth was born in Lapel, Indiana, on September 23, 1919. She was the daughter of Homer and Merle (Sinders) Lewis of Lapel, Indiana who preceded her in death.
Mary was employed by Bridgestone Firestone for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed the Noblesville Senior Citizens where she was a member for several years and active in the exercise classes. Mary loved traveling, cooking, and fishing. She spent hours enjoying Morse Lake with her late husband on their houseboat in the early 60's. Many wonderful times were spent in Nashville, Indiana, in their cabin on Green Brier Lake. A Noblesville sports fan, Mary enjoyed and was a great fan of her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She was a real Pacer fan and loved the Noblesville Millers. Most of all, Mary was a homemaker who loved her family and will leave behind wonderful memories for them.
She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Wood-Sisson (Larry) and Sharon Williamson (Jim); one son, Jim Camp (Jenny); nine grandchildren, Larry Wood, Jr. (Janet), Gary Wood (Stephanie), Chip Camp (Angie), Kim Thompson (Scott), Andy Camp (Chris), Deedra Henning (Bernie), Terry Wood (Susie), Randy Sisson (Julie), and Kim Zabinski; and granddaughter-in-law, Patty Williamson. Mary is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ivan "Pete" Lewis (Bernadine) of Anderson, Indiana.
Also preceding her in death were two grandsons, Michael Williamson and Timothy Williamson; two brothers, Robert Lewis and George Lewis of Lapel, Indiana; and two sisters, Phyllis Roudebush of Noblesville, Indiana and Betty Schank of Honey Creek, Indiana.
Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, starting at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor John Cernero will be officiating the services. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noblesville Senior Citizens Center, 18336 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, Indiana, 46060.
