Mary Alice Hinshaw Kaiser, 95, of Carmel, passed away in the early morning of Friday, January 22, 2016 at Magnolia Springs Senior Living at Bridgewater in Carmel. She was born on April 16, 1920 to Hobart and Marie (Muinzer) Grandstaff in Lafayette, Indiana. She graduated in 1938 as Salutatorian of St. Francis High School, and was a member of Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Mary was a homemaker and attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville. She enjoyed flower gardening and had been a member of the Carmel Garden Club. She also enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Lake Tippecanoe and the beach at Fort Myers, FL; and loved animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Bruce) Rose; son, Steve (Linda Bevins) Hinshaw; stepchildren, Joe Kaiser and Mary Anna Hunt; grandchildren, Brandon Rose, Brett (Abby) Rose, Kellee (fiancé, Brandon Reel) Hinshaw and Kaycee (Jeff) Schooley; step-grandchildren, Heather Gonzalez and Jeanette Ochoa; sister, Frances DeBoni; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl K. Hinshaw who passed away in October of 1975; and second husband, Max Kaiser in February of 2010.
