Mary Patricia May , 91, of Fishers, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was born on October 23, 1930 to John and Winifred (Lalley) Hostetter in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mary Pat graduated as Valedictorian from Bergin High School in Bergin, KY. In 1951, she graduated from Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, KY. Mary Pat worked as an RN for over 30 years for St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington and Saint John's Hospital in Anderson, IN. She was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church and active on Saint Anne's Guild, Funeral Committee, and Living Daily Rosary, and also served as an administrative volunteer and other faith-related ministries.
Mary Pat enjoyed cheering on all of her favorite sports teams: University of Kentucky, Butler, Purdue, Colts and her granddaughter's DePauw Lady Tigers Soccer. She was an avid reader and an expert genealogy researcher. Mary Pat loved traveling to the beach with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers.
Mary Pat is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Terry) Rich of Anderson, IN, Laurie (Ronnie) Howell of Muncie, IN, Mary Elaine May of Santa Clara, CA, Nancy Jamrose of Daytona, FL, Tricia (John) Carrico of Fishers, IN, and Maureen (Kevin) Fox of Indianapolis, IN; 17 grandchildren, Alison Ballart, Adam Ballart, Ryan Rich, Rhett Rich, Renae Osterhout, Jordan Howell, Kayley Howell, Kelsey Weiss, Ethan Jamrose, Drew Jamrose, Stacy Binder, Lexi Carrico, Lucas Carrico, Olivia Carrico, Isabelle Fox, Emma Fox, and Lily Fox; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William O'Neil May; daughter, Teresa May Ballart; and her grandson, Jay Howell.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at 5:00 pm, on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Viewing at church will be from 9:30 am to 10:15 am, followed by a eulogy and Mass at 10:30 am, on Monday, January 24, 2022 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road in Fishers. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
