Mary Alice McMahon, 88, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at The Barrington of Carmel. She was born on September 2, 1929 to Herbert and Maude (Davidson) Shadinger in Peru, Indiana. Mary Alice had been a teacher at Noblesville High School. She received her Master's degree in Home Economics from Purdue University, and was a founding member of the Home Extensions, and on the Board of Directors of Hamilton Centers. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville. Mary Alice enjoyed gardening, cross-country skiing, playing Bridge with her Bridge Clubs, and was an avid walker; but her greatest joy was baking cookies with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Michael (Debra) McMahon, Jane (Mike) Green, Nancy (Joe) Spencer, Barb McMahon (Jim), and Brian (Peggy) Dickason; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay (Matthew), Levi (Kiel-Anne), Bradley (Ingrid), Morgan (Nicky), Kyle (Ashley), Matthew (Chelsea), Eric (Emily), Cody (Caitlin), Alexander (Danielle), Blake (Tori), and Emily; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Garrick McMahon. Private family services will be held.
