Mary Ann Pappas, 73, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Clare Bridge of Carmel. She was born on January 12, 1939 to Elmer and Lona (Boehmer) Hammond in Houston, Texas.
Mary Ann worked in the life insurance industry as a secretary for many years and was the leader of her daughter's Girl Scout Troop. She loved to sew dolls, stuffed rabbits, and reindeer. Mary Ann loved to play games and was an avid and excellent euchre player. She also loved going to the beach to pick up shells. Mary Ann was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church since 1972.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, George Pappas; daughter, Kathy (Scott) Troiano; grandchildren, Nick and Katie Troiano; two cousins, Will Frauenholz and Clark Hammond; and two very close friends, Patty (Hibbert) Murphy, Sue (Willis) Petermen. Patty and Sue have been Mary Ann's friends since the first day of high school. They were all part of the first graduating class of Scecina Memorial High School. She was also survived by her dog, Georgio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Leona Frauenholz.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 E 191st Street, Noblesville on Friday, April 20 at 10:00am with one hour of visitation prior to the service, with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will be at Randall and Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, April 19 with Rosary service starting at 7:30pm. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
