Matthew (Matt) Ryan Foley, 51, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at his home with love surrounding him following a battle with cancer. He was born on June 18, 1972, in South Bend, Indiana, to Dick and Bonnie Foley. He was the youngest of four boys: Chris Foley, Rick Foley (wife Meg) and Tim Foley (wife Krista). Matt was a graduate of John Adams High School and Marquette University.
Matt was the ultimate family man. Nothing brought him more joy than his two children, Aidan (17) and Bridget (15), wife, Brandee, and spending time with his brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and his parents.
Matt was a tennis coach for the Fishers High School boys’ and girls’ teams and an instructor for the Indianapolis Racquet Club. He enjoyed playing, teaching, and coaching tennis, as well as golfing with family and friends. Prior to his coaching career, Matt was a financial investor and real estate broker.
Growing up in South Bend is where Matt’s enjoyment for tennis and golf started. Matt and his brothers spent many a summer playing at Morris Park Country Club. And when Matt wasn’t playing sports, you would most likely catch him and/or his family either watching or attending a Notre Dame football or basketball game.
Equal to Matt’s deep love for family and enjoyment of sports was his passion for Rolling Stones music and Keith Richards guitar playing. There would be many a time when a friend or his wife/children would catch him blaring Rolling Stones/Keith Richards music while playing one of his guitars. And if he wasn’t playing guitar, you would catch him reading an autobiography or a classical piece of literature.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brandee Foley; parents, Dick and Bonnie Foley; children, Aidan and Bridget Foley; brothers, Chris Foley, Rick Foley and Tim Foley; and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm ET on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fishers High School Athletic Department, 13000 Promise Rd, Fishers, IN 46038.
