Max E. 'Gene' Hurlock, 88, of Fishers, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on July 12, 1922 to Newell R. and Minnie G. (Morgan) Hurlock in Fishers.
Gene was a farmer and a mechanic and retired in 1983 from Firestone Industrial Products. He proudly served with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. Max also served as the Fall Creek Twp. Trustee in the early 1960's. He was a member of the Noblesville Moose; the Hamilton Masonic Lodge #533 (where he had been the oldest Worshipful Master Mason of the Lodge); and the Fishers American Legion. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Silver Stars Bowling League.
He is survived by two daughters, Pam Fitch of Fishers & Patti (friend Mike) Hurlock of Noblesville; and special friend, Mary Crail of Atlanta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma P. Hurlock who passed away in 1983.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Rd in Fishers. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, June 22, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm with a masonic service beginning at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
