Merrill Gilpin, 75, of Noblesville passed away on September 9, 2011 at his home, with his loving wife of 46 years, his children and his grandchildren - 'all his girls', as he called them. He was born March 27, 1936 to Robert and Pauline (George) Gilpin in New Castle, IN.
Merrill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and papaw. He was retired from Prairie Farm Dairy in 1997. He attended Broad Ripple High School. Besides his family, he enjoyed fishing, camping, making tin men; and was an avid football fan.
In addition to his wife, Jerri, he is survived by daughters, Lisa (Randy) Anderson, Reba (Bill) Hyde, & Sally (Ben) Smith; son, Gary Gruel; two brothers, Larry Gilpin & George Gilpin; grandchildren, Heather Anderson-Sanjuan, Jody McDonald, James Spray & Adam Gruel; great-grandchildren, Jacob Warner, James Spray, Jr, & Jordan Spray; and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Greg Gruel; and brother, Robert Gilpin.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:30AM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St in Noblesville, with Pastor Rob Miffin officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
