Michael Lee Casey, 86, of Noblesville, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Michael was a selfless and caring man with an incredible sense of humor and deep love for his family. He was a devout Christian who lived to give to others, generous in all aspects of the word through his immeasurable charitable work as well as with his time and spirit.
Michael was born on January 18, 1938 in Noblesville, IN, where he was a lifelong resident, and was raised by Mary James (Sallade, mother), Joseph Casey (father), and William Sallade (stepfather). He graduated from Noblesville High School in 1956 before studying at Indiana State University and later graduating from Indiana Business College, then dedicating his career to Firestone/Bridgestone for 45 years. Ever invested in his community, he served on the Noblesville City Council from 1971-1981 and was an active member of White River Christian Church of Noblesville. Michael was an avid athlete throughout his life. He participated in high school football, basketball, and track; coached Noblesville Elementary football; and remained active throughout his adult life – often walking several miles a day – into his 80s.
In 1960, Michael married his wife Ann G. Daughtery (Casey) whom he loved and adored for 64 blissful years. After retirement, he and Ann traveled the world, visiting numerous countries and embarking on countless cruises. Michael’s love of travel paired with his selfless and generous nature led to a passion for missionary work throughout Jamaica and Bolivia spanning 20 years.
Michael will always be remembered for his easy smile, sharp wit, and love for his family. His influence was wide, and he leaves behind a legacy of compassion and laughter, evident in those who loved him.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, James Casey, and stepbrothers, Robert Sallade, Bert McIntyre, and Bill McIntyre. He is survived by his children, Michael (Sue) Casey, Elizabeth (Scott) Sackers, Jennifer (Brian) Throgmorton; grandchildren, Zachary (Kate) Sackers, Peter (Chloe) Sackers, Nicole (Taylor) St. Charles, Ann Marie (Scott) Noble; great-grandchildren, Collins and Rory Noble; and stepbrother, Roger McIntyre.
A celebration of life will occur at a later date to be determined.
