Michael John Formato

Michael John Formato, 60, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.  He was born on March 30, 1962 to Rocco and Kathryn (Weibler) Formato in Tampa, Florida.

Mike graduated from State University of NY (SUNY Binghamton) and received a Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan.  He served in the United States Air Force Reserves and worked as an instructor for advanced automations and robotics for Ivy Tech and served as program chair for the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Science.  Mike was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church of Noblesville.  He loved restoring Corvettes and enjoyed traveling to the Smokies and Myrtle Beach.

Mike is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julie Branca Formato; son, Joseph (Chelsey) Formato; brother, Joseph (Gen) Formato; sister, Peggy (Barry) Brown; mother-in-law, Marie Branca; sister-in-law, Lisa (Duane) Payne; brother-in-law, Bill (Caroline) Branca; sister-in-law, Becky (Bernie) Tinus; as well as several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Pierce, Elizabeth Wells, and Janet Gloster.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a memorial service at 1:00 pm, on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.  Rev. Michael Block will officiate.
