Mike Whitson

Michael W. 'Mike' Whitson, 63, of Fortville, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Kindred-Bridgewater in Carmel, where he lost his long battle with diabetes and heart disease. He was born on October 30, 1949 to Tipton and Mildred (Burgess) Whitson in Beaver Dam, KY.
Mike retired in 1986 after 13 years as a police officer, and had been a NRA instructor for the Noblesville Police Department. Previously he had been a woodworker with Whitson Custom Cabinets for 20 years. He attended Creekside Ministry in Fishers; was an avid sportsman (especially fishing, boating & golf); and an avid camper. He loved people.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Whitson, whom he married in 1987; mother, Mildred Whitson; children, Craig Clifford Whitson, Amanda Lynn Whitson, Jennifer Linn Whitson, Luke Allan Whitson and Gabrielle Elizabeth (Keith) Kimmerling; and six grandchildren, Autumn, Sierra, Mya, Hope, Hunter & Leeland.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Whitson.
Services will be held at 8:00PM on Friday, December 14, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 4:00PM immediately prior to the service.
