Muriel Elaine Washburn, 84, of Trinidad, CO, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born on December 24, 1926 to Silas and Cora (Jewett) Sheldon in Oswego, New York.
Muriel was a homemaker and had also been a beautician in both Oregon and New York. She was a member of Lord's Chapel in Segundo, CO and the VFW in Oregon. Having been the wife of a Marine, she was very patriotic.
She is survived by three daughters, Lorelee (Mike) Palmetier of Noblesville, IN, Jan (Julian) Martinez of Trinidad, CO & Lanie (Daniel) Plath of Toledo, OH; 13 grandchildren, one of which, Conni Palmetier, lives in Fishers; 19 great-grandchildren, one of which, Abigail Palmetier, lives in Fishers; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Washburn; daughter, Juanita Hawthorne; two sons, Jon & Carl Washburn; and one sister.
Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Trinidad, CO. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR, alongside her husband and two sons.
